Using Cork for Sound Dampening on a Wall

Q: I want to install cork on the wall behind washer and dryer for sound damping (and looks). Which type of tile would be best for this?
A: First I would like to mention that flooring products are not built to be placed on a ceiling or wall and that such an installation normally voids the warranty of this products. However, we have had plenty of experience with accent walls done in cork. I would suggest using the glue down pre-finished tiles made by APC cork for such an application.
My best advice would be to lay out the cork ahead of time if you wish to have some design to it, then take your time during the install and ensure to follow the instructions.
Floors and accent walls can be done in a fashion that makes them truly awe inspiring, but the most common mistake made is to simply start installing the product right away without taking time to arrange the project before hand (referred to as “racking out” a floor). If you want to have something which is both functional and beautiful, take the time to lay your cork out to ensure you get a good pattern you like, then proceed with your installation.
